Happy June from Enneagram Life!
Father's day gifts, playlists for every type & an Enneagram summer ☀
Happy June from Enneagram Life!
Do you know your dad’s Enneagram type? If you do, you have an easy gift for Father’s Day at the ready! One of our Enneagram devotionals or mugs could be a wonderful gift to encourage growth and appreciate the unique personality of your father figure.
We have new stickers and mugs highlighting each number + wing combination in our Etsy store. And all of our devotionals are available wherever you find books. Let’s celebrate the dads this month!
If you’re looking for a new playlist, check out our playlists for each type! These songs were specifically curated to reflect and celebrate your Enneagram type. If you enjoy your number’s songs, consider listening to your wing type too.
Type 1: This playlist was made to reflect the "aura" of Enneagram type Ones, in all their rule-following goodness. These songs reflect things a One needs to hear, something they might say, think, or believe.
Type 2: Awww, the Helper, such a giving Enneagram number. Hopefully, these songs will remind you of what is best about you, and that you're loved too. These songs reflect things a Two needs to hear, something they might say, think, or believe.
Type 3: For our encouraging, action-driven Threes, this playlist is meant to reflect your “aura.” These songs reflect things Threes needs to hear, something they might say, think, or "entrance" songs.
Type 4: This playlist started out as Elisabeth’s personal "sing my melancholy heart out" playlist. She hopes her fellow 4s find it as comforting and fun as she does.
Type 5: For our practical and objective Fives, this playlist was made to reflect the "aura" of your number. These songs reflect things a Fives needs to hear, something they might say, think, or believe.
Type 6: For our faithful, brave Sixes, this playlist is for you! These songs reflect things a Six needs to hear, something they might say, think, or believe.
Type 7: Life’s a party right? Or at least it is to our Sevens! Enjoy this playlist full of inclusive party songs to brighten your day.
Type 8: Our strong, wonderful Eights! These songs reflect things a Eight needs to hear, or something they might say, think, or believe.
Type 9: Elisabeth had so much fun making this playlist for our Nines, and she hopes its entire 1hr and 30mins is a respite for your soul, and helps you feel understood.
In her book, Enneagram Life, Elisabeth unpacks the season of our life that we might think of as “summer”: adolescence. Here’s a few insights in thinking about the summer season of our life in conjunction with the Enneagram:
During this summer of our life seasons, the tension between childhood and adulthood is palpable, and our self-awareness starts to truly bloom. Like the season of summer itself, adolescence seems to last forever, while simultaneously being over in the blink of an eye…When it comes to working with the Enneagram, adolescence is the first season of life in which we can actually try to help people type themselves, usually around ages fifteen through eighteen. During this period, our self-awareness and understanding of our motivations can be developed enough to discern which Enneagram type is our core.
This summer section of the book unpacks several Enneagram topics that impact us throughout our lives, but especially in adolescence: stress vs. growth, introvert vs. extrovert, male vs. female, subtypes and friendships. Here’s some encouragement from the chapter on “Living in excess of your personality”:
One of the most life-changing gifts the Enneagram has given me is the ability to see people as unhealthy instead of bad, evil, or unable to change. Unhealthy people are hurting; they can heal and grow. Bad people hurt others because that’s what they do, but hurt people often hurt others by default instead of malice. When we can take a moment to focus on someone’s unhealthy state and what caused it, we can have some solace in the fact that while they can be difficult, hurtful or even toxic, there is hope in their condition.
