Enneagram Eight Observations
Observations about Enneagram Eights by an Enneagram Coach

Here are some things I’ve noticed about Enneagram Eights that really don’t have enough text (or importance) to make a post or fill a book, but are interesting to us Enneagram nerds nonetheless.
If you are an Enneagram Eight or love an Enneagram Eight I’d love to hear from you in the comments? How do these observations resonate?
Eights do not need to be taught directness, but they do need to be taught subtlety.
Trying to push an Eight to be vulnerable (when they’re not ready) often results in anger not softness.
Eights thrive when they feel purpose.
It has been observed that Eights would rather work-it-out instead of talk-it-out.
A Nine wing or a Seven wing can make an Eight look like a completely different creature, it’s uncanny…
Eights don’t want to be sacrificed for, but in close relationships they need to be sacrificed for.
It can be hard for Eights to articulate why they’re shutting down.
Eights can read people’s character very well. They can smell out a rat from a mile away.
Eights I’ve coached often seem confused by how others perceive them. Blaming RBF a lot of the time.
Eights want rest, but can struggle to know what to do with it once they have it.
Eights are big picture people, and can struggle to motivate themselves towards mundane everyday tasks. (unless they are a SP subtype)
Eights fight hard because they love big.

Hi, 8 with a 7 wing here. I don’t find this analysis particularly nuanced or insightful. The fact that it’s spoken in digitized speech makes me wonder if it’s AI generated. If not, the creator is selling herself short with this presentation.
my guess is that it will be difficult to get an Eight to weigh in! 🤣
